Terms of service

1. What this site is
Fairfield County Garage Door (legal entity to be confirmed, "we") operates this website and the telephone number (475) 889-7939 as a booking and referral service for garage door repair in Stamford, Norwalk, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan, Connecticut.
We do not repair garage doors. We are not a licensed contractor, we employ no technicians, and we perform no work at your property. When you contact us we take your details and refer your enquiry to one independent local garage door company. That company does the work, quotes the price, and is responsible for it.
By using this site or contacting us you agree to these terms.
2. What we do
- Answer your call, text or form submission, normally within two minutes, at any hour.
- Ask you questions about the door so the technician arrives prepared.
- Judge how urgent the job appears from what you tell us, and refer it accordingly.
- Refer your enquiry to one independent garage door company serving your area.
- Keep a record of the enquiry and of what we did with it.
3. What we do not do, and do not promise
- We do not quote prices. Nothing on this site is a price, an estimate, a range or a quotation. Only the contractor can price your job, and they do so after seeing the door.
- We do not promise an arrival time. Any time you are given comes from the contractor, not from us. Statements on this site about a reply "within two minutes", a callback "usually within the hour", or "same-day" service describe our normal pattern and the contractor's normal pattern; they are not guarantees and are not contractual commitments.
- We do not guarantee the work. Any warranty, guarantee or workmanship assurance is the contractor's, given to you by them, and enforceable against them.
- We do not supervise the contractor. We check that a company is registered and insured before referring work to it, and we may stop referring work to it. We do not control how, when or how well it performs a repair.
- We do not provide emergency services. If there is a risk to anyone's safety, call 911. A garage door that has fallen, trapped someone, or caused an injury is an emergency services matter first.
4. Your agreement is with the contractor
Any repair, installation, inspection or sale of parts is a contract between you and the independent contractor, not between you and us. That includes the price, the scope, the payment, the schedule, any warranty, and any dispute about any of them. We are not a party to it and we are not an agent authorised to bind either of you.
If the contractor fails to perform, we would like to know — tell us and we will take it into account in whether we keep referring work to them — but a claim about the work is a claim against them.
5. Safety
Information on this site about garage doors is general, written to help you describe a problem and avoid getting hurt while you wait. It is not instructions and it is not a diagnosis of your door. Garage door springs and cables store enough energy to cause serious injury. Do not attempt spring, cable or off-track repairs yourself, do not stand under a door that is stuck, and do not force a door that will not move. If you act on general information on this site rather than on a technician's advice, you do so at your own risk.
6. Contacting us, and texts
When you give us a phone number, you are asking us to contact you about your enquiry, including by text message, at the number you gave. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text and we stop permanently. We contact you up to three times about an unanswered enquiry and then stop; any reply from you ends that sequence immediately. We do not send marketing texts.
Where calls to (475) 889-7939 are recorded, you are told at the start of the call.
7. Accuracy
We keep this site accurate and we will get things wrong anyway. Service areas, hours, the towns covered and the contractor on the other end of the number can change. Nothing here is a warranty that the site is complete, current or error-free.
8. Acceptable use
Do not submit the form with false details, use it to send bulk or automated submissions, or use this site to harass anyone. We rate-limit submissions and we will stop responding to a number or address used abusively.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent Connecticut law permits, we are not liable for loss arising from the work of the contractor, from any delay in a contractor contacting or attending, from any price charged by a contractor, or from your reliance on general information on this site. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to $100. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited, including fraud or personal injury caused by our negligence.
10. Privacy
How we handle your information.
11. Governing law

12. Changes
We may change these terms; the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the current version.
